She seeks to create an empathic environment and supportive therapeutic relationship that can facilitate growth and healing. Often, even without full awareness, past experience can shape present functioning and relationships. Emily works with adolescents and adults within a psychodynamic framework, integrating cognitive behavioral and humanistic principles, to explore such concerns and patterns.
Emily’s areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, trauma, relational conflict, identity concerns, and personality disorders. She has a special interest in working with adolescents and young adults.
As a doctoral candidate at the University of Detroit Mercy, her clinical training has involved experiences at university counseling centers and forensic settings. In her free time, Emily enjoys running, reading and writing fantasy and nonfiction, and spending time outdoors.
