As a therapist who believes that our social surroundings shape who we are, Julia enjoys working with diverse populations and values each patient’s unique identity and perspective in the therapeutic work. Everyone has had life experiences that affect their sense of self, how they feel, and how they relate to others. Therapy is an opportunity to build a strong and empathic relationship that can help individuals process these experiences and feelings, strengthen their relationships and sense of self, and find meaning in life. She integrates humanistic, existential, and cognitive-behavioral techniques to tailor therapy to each client.
Julia has special interests in trauma, relational conflict, identity concerns, personality disorders, depression, and anxiety. As a doctoral student at the University of Detroit Mercy, she has gained clinical training in community outpatient, university counseling center, and inpatient settings.
Julia enjoys art, listening to and making music, spending time with friends, and participating in social advocacy.
