As a therapist, she strives to create an environment in which clients can discover how they came to this place in their lives, harness that new understanding, and cope with and work to shape and modify the world around them. They may be struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, addiction, PTSD/trauma, sexual issues, gender-related issues, dementia/neurocognitive disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, grief or loss, or any other symptoms. She does not believe that individuals need to be defined by their diagnoses.
Carolin also enjoys helping couples work to untangle their communication problems, barriers, and conflicts to regain the understanding, love, and respect that first drew them together. This often involves examination of each person’s attachment style and gaining a deeper understanding of each individual’s needs and views of the world in the therapy sessions.
In work with families, she strives to help parents establish healthy parent-child attachments and a healthy family system. She assists parents in gaining and maintaining a sense of calm and order within their family system.
Carolin has worked as both a therapist and as a business consultant assisting multiple successful practices and healthcare programs in Metro-Detroit in ensuring quality care for the individuals being served.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Capella University and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Capella University (Harold Abel School of Psychology). She is certified in Exposure Therapy, TF-CBT, and neurocognitive therapy; she is experienced with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other neurocognitive disorders such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, and is a certified Star Behavioral Health military-aware provider that treats military families and military-connected clients.
Carolin loves being outside in nature, traveling, seeking new experiences, learning new things, spending time with her husband and three children, and spending time with her dear friends.
